Bluesound Redefines the Soundbar: Meet the New PULSE CINEMA and CINEMA MINI

Hi-res multi-room audio meets cinematic performance in two sleek, low-profile designs.

Bluesound, long regarded as the original hi-res multi-room audio brand, has unveiled its next generation of streaming soundbars: the PULSE CINEMA and its compact sibling, the PULSE CINEMA MINI. These new models represent not just incremental upgrades, but complete reimaginings of Bluesound’s award-winning soundbar line—fusing audiophile-grade performance, minimalist aesthetics, and a refreshingly simple setup process.

Bluesound calls the design philosophy Simple AV: an effort to strip away the bulk and complexity of traditional home theater rigs while preserving the dynamics, clarity, and immersion of a true cinematic system. Judging from the specs and execution, the new PULSE CINEMA duo stays true to that promise.

The Big Statement: PULSE CINEMA

At 47 inches wide, the flagship PULSE CINEMA is built for screens 55 inches and larger. Inside its discreet enclosure sits an ambitious 16-driver array: a dedicated center channel for dialogue, dual 4-inch woofers for bass authority, angled side drivers for width, and upfiring drivers for Dolby Atmos height effects. The system pushes 500 watts of total power, promising a soundstage that feels far larger than its form factor suggests.

The result? A genuine 3.2.2-channel Dolby Atmos experience that elevates everything from blockbusters and live sports to high-res music streams. And thanks to BluOS, Bluesound’s powerful multi-room streaming platform, it doubles as a serious hi-fi music system.

Compact, Yet Cinematic: PULSE CINEMA MINI

For smaller spaces, bedrooms, dens, or condo living rooms, Bluesound has scaled the concept down without cutting corners. The 33-inch PULSE CINEMA MINI delivers 280 watts of power through dual 4-inch woofers and angled drivers, with 2.1-channel Dolby Atmos processing that virtualizes height effects.

Unlike most compact soundbars that compromise on scale and richness, the MINI carries the same acoustic DNA as its big brother—just in a slimmer, lighter package. It’s offered in two finishes: black with dark grey fabric, or white with a tan fabric grille, blending seamlessly into a variety of interiors.

Designed for Real Life

Both models share Bluesound’s thoughtful design touches:

  • HDMI eARC, optical, and RCA inputs for flexible connectivity.

  • Smart DSP with automatic orientation detection, so wall-mounted or shelf placement sounds equally balanced without manual tweaking.

  • Subwoofer outputs, supporting either wired connections or Bluesound’s SUB+ for wireless bass expansion.

  • Two-way Bluetooth and AirPlay 2, alongside native support for 20+ streaming services including TIDAL, Qobuz, Spotify, Amazon Music, and Deezer.

  • High-res playback up to 24-bit/192kHz and MQA decoding, ensuring music streams retain their full fidelity.

For integrators and smart home enthusiasts, both soundbars also play nicely with Control4, Crestron, and RTI.

Scalable by Design

Perhaps the most compelling feature is how easily these soundbars can grow into wireless surround systems. Pair either model with Bluesound’s SUB+ and rear speakers, and you’ve effectively created a full multi-channel setup—no AV receiver, no tangled speaker wires.

As Matt Simmonds, Bluesound’s Product Manager, puts it: “We wanted to build soundbars that didn’t just sound great—they needed to be beautifully simple to live with. You get immersive, cinematic sound without any of the typical AV clutter.”

BluOS: The Secret Sauce

Both models are powered by BluOS, the award-winning multi-room platform that underpins Bluesound and NAD products. Beyond streaming hi-res music from dozens of services, BluOS makes it possible to group the soundbars with other speakers throughout the home, sync playback across rooms, or hand off listening seamlessly from one zone to another.

It’s a system designed as much for music lovers as for movie fans, making the new PULSE CINEMA lineup far more versatile than most soundbars in its class.

Pricing & Availability

The PULSE CINEMA ($1499 USD / €1299) and PULSE CINEMA MINI ($999 USD / €899) will be available for pre-order starting September 24, 2025, with global shipping beginning October 24, 2025.
