A New Chapter for an American Hi-Fi Icon

Grado Labs, the Brooklyn-based boutique headphone maker, has unveiled the Signature S750, a major new addition to its Signature Line — and the first truly ground-up model the company has introduced in years.

Following the HP100 SE and S950, the S750 brings a complete driver redesign, a new B cushion system, and refined materials that blend classic Grado sound with modern luxury engineering.

With a price expected between $1,500 and $2,500, the S750 enters the high-end wired headphone arena, signaling Grado’s boldest move yet toward the audiophile luxury segment — without losing its handcrafted Brooklyn soul.

Built Around an All-New S2 Driver

At the heart of the S750 lies Grado’s newly developed S2 50mm driver, a fully ground-up design aimed at greater precision and tonal balance.

The carbon-fiber-and-paper diaphragm and copper-plated aluminum voice coil deliver natural musicality, crisp detail, and wide dynamic range — a sound that’s more neutral and refined than classic Grados, but still unmistakably alive and energetic.

Housed in a hand-machined aluminum chassis built in Brooklyn, the S750 weighs just 460 grams — over 10% lighter than the HP100 SE — offering durability without the typical “brick-on-your-head” feel.

In short, it’s Brooklyn craftsmanship meeting modern acoustic science.

Comfort Reimagined: The New B Cushion

Grado introduces its B cushion — a completely new ear pad design making its debut on the S750.

The cushion brings a shorter driver-to-ear distance and a smaller interior opening, subtly shifting tonal balance toward warmer mids and smoother highs. Eight precision air slits manage airflow, expanding the soundstage while controlling resonance.

More importantly, the flat, pressure-spreading design transforms comfort — eliminating the familiar “20-minute forehead fatigue” older Grados were known for.

“With the S750, we’re giving users the flexibility to listen the way they want,”said Richard Grado, Chief Operating Officer at Grado Labs.“The B cushion gives listeners another way to experience Grado headphones.”

Refined Cabling and Build Quality

Like its Signature predecessors, the S750 features detachable cables, but this time they’re lighter, softer, and far more durable.

The 6-foot Signature Gold braided cable ends in a 6.35mm single-ended plug and connects via 4-pin balanced mini-XLR, giving users the option to upgrade to balanced configurations such as 4-pin XLR or 4.4mm Pentaconn.

The headband assembly is another major refinement: 50% more padding, engraved aluminum gimbals, stainless-steel height rods, and limited 105° rotation for better stability and longevity.

It’s a premium tactile experience that feels every bit as solid as it sounds.

Specs That Mean Business

The S750 is a dynamic, open-back headphone designed for spacious, natural sound.

  • Driver: 50mm S2

  • Frequency Response: 6 Hz – 46 kHz

  • Distortion: < 0.2% @ 100 dB

  • Impedance: 38 ohms

  • Sensitivity: 115 dB/mW

  • Weight: 460g

While it can run from portable DACs, the S750 shines with dedicated amplification, rewarding those who pair it with high-quality gear.

Grado’s Evolution: Still Handcrafted, Now Future-Ready

The S750 joins the HP100 SE and S950 in the Signature family — but it’s arguably the most progressive Grado headphone ever made.

It’s proof that Grado can evolve without abandoning what makes it special: hand-assembled engineering, timeless design, and a sound that still feels human.

With rivals like Meze Audio, Audeze, Dan Clark Audio, and HiFiMAN dominating the luxury headphone space, the S750 shows that Brooklyn is ready to compete at the highest level.

The Bottom Line

The Grado Signature S750 is both a love letter to analog craftsmanship and a bold step into modern hi-fi luxury.

It’s lighter, smoother, and more comfortable than ever before — yet unmistakably Grado. For long-time fans and new audiophiles alike, the S750 represents the next era of Brooklyn sound.
