The Obi3 promises smooth, balanced sound and minimalist design at an entry-level price.

A New Chapter for Kanto
Canadian audio brand Kanto—best known for its sleek powered speakers—has officially entered the turntable market with the debut of the Obi3, its first-ever record player.
This belt-driven deck combines clean, minimalist design with a promise of precise, vibration-free playback, offering newcomers a refined introduction to vinyl without breaking the bank.
Smooth Sound Meets Modern Tech
At the heart of the Obi3 is a pre-installed Audio-Technica AT3600L cartridge, delivering what Kanto describes as a “smooth, balanced sound that honours vinyl’s analogue heritage while embracing modern convenience.”
That modern twist comes in the form of Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, allowing the Obi3 to stream wirelessly to Bluetooth speakers or headphones—a rare feature at this price point. It’s a feature set reminiscent of the five-star Pro-Ject T1 Evo BT, but at an even more accessible price.

Classic Hi-Fi Flexibility
For those who prefer a traditional wired setup, the Obi3 includes an integrated phono stage and RCA outputs, letting users plug directly into amplifiers or powered speakers.
The aluminium J-shaped tonearm is factory-calibrated for tracking precision, while the weighted aluminium platter and wooden plinth provide a stable, resonance-resistant base for smooth playback at both 33⅓ and 45 RPM.
Compact, Minimalist Design
The Obi3 stays true to Kanto’s design ethos—simple, tactile, and modern. Its compact footprint (40 x 35.5 x 9.4 cm) makes it ideal for smaller spaces, while the included dust cover, slip mat, and 45 RPM adapter make it a true plug-and-play solution for any setup.
According to Brett Smalley, Kanto’s Marketing Director:
“Obi3 represents a new design language for Kanto—one that celebrates the tactile joy of analogue and the simplicity of our speaker range. Together, they make a great system.”
