Triangle Unveils the Capella 2: A Sleek Wireless Streaming System That Declares War on Cable Chaos

The French hi-fi house Triangle is back with a bang, teasing its next-generation Capella 2 streaming active loudspeakers — a system that promises audiophile-grade sound, wireless simplicity, and a stylish design that leaves cable clutter firmly in the past.

With the original Capella earning praise for its blend of clarity, convenience, and craftsmanship, the Capella 2 looks set to refine the formula with upgraded tech, better connectivity, and a more elegant presentation.

Smarter, Cleaner, and All About Simplicity

At its heart, the Capella 2 is a two-way active standmount speaker powered by WiSA wireless technology, designed to eliminate what Triangle cheekily calls “cable vomit.” Instead of a tangle of wires, the system relies on a central Stereo Hub 2, which transmits high-resolution audio to each speaker wirelessly at 24-bit/96kHz with no perceptible latency.

Each loudspeaker features a 16.5cm natural cellulose pulp mid/bass driver and a 2.5cm horn-loaded magnesium alloy dome tweeter, both powered by dedicated 50W Class D amplifiers and individual DACs. A DSP crossover working at 3600Hz ensures a seamless handoff between drivers for crisp highs and punchy mids.

To keep unwanted resonances at bay, Triangle includes its DVAS (Driver Vibration Absorption System), while a downward-firing bass reflex port maintains smooth, uniform low-end dispersion without muddying vocals.

The Hub 2: Wireless Brains with Audiophile Ambition

The new Stereo Hub 2 is the nerve center of the system — and a major leap over the original Capella hub. It now includes both Ethernet input and subwoofer output, extending flexibility for more serious setups.

On the back panel, you’ll find three TOSLINK inputs, one coaxial, USB-B for PC audio, HDMI eARC with CEC for TV use, and standard RCA and 3.5mm analogue inputs. On the wireless front, there’s Spotify Connect (Lossless), Tidal Connect, Roon Ready certification, Apple AirPlay 2, Google Cast, UPnP/DLNA, and Bluetooth 5.2.

The new Triangle app (iOS and Android) enables automatic room calibration using your smartphone or the optional Zen calibration microphone. For audiophiles who prefer hands-on control, a manual EQ option is also available. A newly designed radio-frequency remote replaces the old infrared model for improved range and reliability.

Design Evolution: French Elegance Meets Modern Minimalism

Triangle has also given the Capella 2 a visual refresh worthy of its sonic credentials. The Stereo Hub 2 now matches the speakers aesthetically, allowing it to stand proudly on display rather than being hidden away.

Buyers can choose from five lacquered finishes, some accented with champagne-anodized aluminium:

  • Space White

  • Astral Blue

  • Space Black (new)

  • English Green (new)

  • Oak (new)

Each finish exudes the brand’s signature French design flair, ensuring that the Capella 2 looks as stunning as it sounds.

Price, Competition, and Availability

The full Capella 2 system — including both speakers and the Stereo Hub 2 — will retail for €2,499, placing it squarely against formidable competitors like the KEF LS50 Wireless II (€2,799) and the Technics SC-CX700 (€2,799).

Unlike its rivals, though, Triangle’s system routes all inputs through the hub, ensuring that your speakers remain blissfully free of wires. It’s a cleaner, smarter, and more elegant solution for modern streaming enthusiasts.

Production continues in Soissons, France, with the first units expected to ship in early 2026.

Final Thoughts

With its blend of design sophistication, wireless innovation, and handcrafted French engineering, the Triangle Capella 2 might just redefine what a modern all-in-one hi-fi system can be.

Fewer cables, more music — and a lot of French style.
