Forget squinting at your streamer’s tiny screen — WiiM just made your TV the center of the experience. Welcome to WiiM Home TV: slick, simple, and free.
Album Art That Doesn’t Need a Magnifying Glass
Vinyl has sleeves. CDs have booklets. But streaming? You’re lucky if the cover art isn’t the size of a postage stamp on your DAC.WiiM’s answer: ditch the front-panel displays and beam that ‘now playing’ info straight to your TV using their new tvOS app for Apple TV.
Just install WiiM Home TV, and boom — you get real-time metadata and artwork from any WiiM device on the biggest screen in your room.
Plug, Play, Display
Setup is brain-dead simple:
Connect your Apple TV to the same network as your WiiM device
Launch the app (free on tvOS)
Select your streamer (Ultra, Pro, etc.)
Hit play in your favorite music app
Whether it’s Roon, Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect, Apple AirPlay 2, or Google Cast, the app detects what’s playing and throws that juicy album art and track info up on the TV.
Tested and working with:
✅ Roon (bit-perfect via Ultra)
✅ Google Cast (yep, even Apple Music)
✅ SoundCloud mixes via the WiiM app
✅ Tidal Connect, AirPlay 2, and beyond

Clean Display. Minimal Fuss.
After 30 seconds, playback controls fade away, leaving you with:
Large cover art
Song title
Album title
WiiM branding (subtle, top-right)
It’s basically Apple Music’s TV app, but without compromising audio quality over HDMI ARC. You’re still getting bit-perfect playback through your WiiM streamer — the TV is just for visuals.
Still Early Days — But Promising
Current version: v1.0.2Still rough around the edges:
Apple TV remote playback buttons don’t work yet
No queue view (yet)
You’ll still need your phone for full control
Also, the spectrum analyzer graphic? Distracting. And seriously, swap out the album title for artist name — we want to know who we’re hearing, not just what album it’s from.
Why This Matters
This isn’t just about convenience. It’s a quiet revolution in how we engage with streamed music. Rather than cram tiny screens into every box, WiiM is saying:💡 Your TV is already your biggest, best display — use it.
With WiiM’s excellent track record of fast software rollouts and updates, expect this app to get polished fast. And considering it’s already more useful than some $2K streamers’ UIs, we’re off to a solid start.
Final Thought
WiiM Home TV turns your TV into a beautifully simple, music-first display that finally makes streaming feel as satisfying as physical formats — minus the clutter. And for once, you don’t need to squint to see what’s playing.
